Meet at the Bell Tower in Capitol Square for a tour of the beautiful trees in Capitol Square.
Also learn about the rain gardens and “green street” innovations at Capitol Square that will reduce stormwater runoff and keep our waters clean. This tour should be of interest to anyone who wants to learn about modern techniques for stormwater management. See http://greenvacapitol.org/ for more information on this project.
The fastest and cheapest place to park is on the streets. Spaces should be plentiful on a Saturday morning. Take some change as there are meters. We anticipate the walk will last a little more than an hour so enough quarters for two hours will buy all the time you need.
Donations for the tree walk are appreciated and can be made on the website.
All proceeds for the tree walk will go toward tree planting and community education.
