Arbor Day 2010

STAY CO2OL WITH TREES

April 3, 2010

The weather was perfect, the music was fine and the children were everywhere – up in the trees and bouncing in the castle.   Many got their hands sticky while making pine cone bird feeders.  (Nutzy the Flying Squirrel, being new in town, was on his best behavior and did not raid the bird food!).  Adults and children alike were treated to a short walk where they could see one of the benefits of trees – wildlife habitat.  A great horned owl had chosen a nearby pine to next in.  She and her 2 owlets posed nicely at the scope provided for viewing.

We also managed to find some time to learn a little about trees!
